Back from Outdoor Retailer

Shit... I forgot I had a blog. Better post something. A few days ago I got back from the Outdoor Retailer tradeshow in SLC. It's like the 16th one or something that I've been to... and it was just like all the rest. Setting up and merchandising the TNF booth is test in endurance and patience, but it looked great. It was a nice change of pace to my buddy and co-worker Caleb (C-leb, aka Caleb-erace, aka Caleb Brown the Grumpy Clown) around. When it was all said and done, I spent a few day with Walter and his lovely wife Nathalie and kids Sophia and Wyatt. This was probably the best part of the trip... there's something so tranquil about hanging out with kids... paying attention to someone else while they're so psyched to share with you their pony collection or trying to walk around in shoes twice as big as they are. Hitting the pool, walking the dog, going to the grocery store... all that stuff was a nice way to finish off a hectic and exhausting week. Thanks for the great week, Wilhelms...

The First Post

Do I need my own blog? Probably not, but this is coming at a time of a lot of self-introspection. I am a writer, but have never been a "journal" type guy... what's the point of writing it all down if no one is going to read it? I've moved around my whole life, and am settling into the latest state... the Golden State of California. Since I've been here, the most common question I get is, "How does it compare to NYC?" Well, it's different. Not better. Not worse. But different. Hopefully, this is a forum where I can express that. And anything else rattling around in my little brain.
